Photovoltaic modules in agricultural applications

At Binder we continuously strive to find new challenges that can be solved with our customised fastening solutions, and it’s even better if these new applications contribute to more sustainability.

For this reason, we are pleased to share that we have been involved in the ‘Agri-Photovoltaik-Demonstrationsanlage’ project of Fraunhofer-Institut für Solare Energiesysteme ISE and VOEN Covering Systems, which they presented to the public in April 2025.

This innovative idea makes it possible to integrate lightweight photovoltaic modules into weather protection systems in specialty crop cultivation. Our fastening solutions Pressotex^®, a strong, woven mushroom-shaped fastener for safe, durable yet repositionable solutions, and our lightweight Velour were used to attach the solar panels to the fruit protection nets.
